Meet the Dean

The demand for IT management professionals is soaring, and we’re meeting that need with the Master of Science in Information Technology Management program.

We have expert professors who actively work in the industry teaching our technical classes, such as network and infrastructure management and business data analytics.

Students graduating from this program will not only be equipped as experts in IT, but they will also be experts in how their work integrates with the entire organization.

One-third of the program borrows directly from MBA classes, such as organizational management and financial management. This means students will be able to adopt a holistic approach to IT, appreciating its business implications and devising solutions that elevate the entire organization.

They will have an awareness of the needs of the business as a whole and will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organization and driving success.

And of course, as a Jesus-first university, we don’t just want our students to be competent—we want them to make a genuine transformational impact among the professionals they work with.

So if you feel drawn to both enhancing your technological expertise and developing your leadership capacity, submit your application and join us in serving the Puget Sound and the world.

Hear from our Organizational Management professor, Dr. David Troupe.

My name is David Troupe. I’m with the College of Business, and I teach MBA courses—primarily organizational courses such as organizational science and organizational management.

I spent many decades in large corporate settings, and I had the opportunity to observe a number of leaders. For the most part, those leaders didn’t really fit the mission when it comes to creating a healthy organization.

So, what we need to do in my opinion, is develop leaders who really can do the job that is necessary—building people, building teams, and building healthy organizations. That is vitally important in today’s economy.

It’s also really important for me to gauge my own thinking—to be mindful of how I’m thinking. I cannot be judgmental toward any student, so I need to look within and ask myself, What are my assumptions?

Each class is different, and each class contains its own characters. So how do I view those students, and how do I want to approach them?

First and foremost, I need to focus on loving them—truly assessing each one with an open heart and asking, What is it that they need? Then finding opportunities to inquire more about that.

Of course, I also need to make myself available so that when I understand what their needs are, I can offer support that might be appropriate and help them succeed.

I’ve taught at other universities. I’ve experienced other academic settings, and I can tell you without a doubt that 萌妹社区 is unique.

萌妹社区 has a particular setting, a particular flavor, and a particular focus that you don’t find in other universities.

Academically, it’s superior. But more than that, you’ll find support, you’ll find people who care, and you’ll find professional support that is unrivaled.

And I think that’s worth noting.
