Event & Administrative Assistant


Position Details

Department College of Arts, Sciences, & Technology
Reports To CAST Dean & Office Coordinator
Time Commitment Monday - Friday, hours will vary. Approximately 6 hours per week. Starting Fall 2026

Position Summary

The C.A.S.T. Event & Administrative Assistant assists the College of Arts, Sciences, And Technology Dean and Office Coordinator with assigned tasks as well as music faculty with organization of music events, copies, and coordination. This student worker will be a vital part of the C.A.S.T office operations and event coordination. This position relies on the ability to take both direction and initiative. The position will require the student to work approximately 6 hours per week, but the schedule can be flexible to fit the student’s availability. Current CAST majors are strongly encouraged to apply, as are students involved in music ensembles.

Essential Functions

  • Supports College of Arts, Sciences, & Technology Dean and Office Coordinator with events.
  • Assists with applied music lesson registration, including compiling data on spreadsheets.
  • Works with the other C.A.S.T student worker to preform regular updates on the Eagle webpage.
  • Assists with music scholarship auditions, preparing documents and information, and depending on availability, helping with the event itself.
  • Completes day-of tasks for events/concerts (except for Choralons), including set-up, tear-down, and ushering (as needed and available).
  • Copies programs for all music department events as needed (except Choralons).
  • Organizes and maintains music library, music storage, and instrument inventory, including copying and filing music.
  • Tidies up the music storage room and practice rooms as needed.
  • Maintains supply shelves in various CAST office areas.
  • Copies /scans /prints documents for faculty.
  • Enter attendance records for faculty.
  • Assist the office coordinator with receipt tracking, and minor budgeting tasks.

Working Environment 

  • Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office setting.
  • Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Occasional weekend/evening work may be required.

Physical Demands

The functions are usually performed while sitting or standing, but may involve some amount of time stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting (max. of 25 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements.  The abilities of seeing, hearing, and speaking are also required.
